Detector Products and Ordering Testimonials and Sound FilesFAQ
Do you have a pet rat or mouse? Did you know that they actually talk? Researchers have documented that these fascinating animals actually vocalize and laugh? However, they make these sounds in the ultrasonic range - beyond that of human hearing. These sounds occur around 55 khz and can be very easily heard with our Bat and Rat Detector.
The detector was originally designed to listen to bats, but quickly found a use among pet owners as a way to listen to their pets.
How do I use the detector to listen to my rat or mouse?
Put a 9 volt battery in the unit, turn it on and place it near your pet. Generally, you will have to place the detector within two foot of your pet to be able to clearly hear any sounds.
What will I hear?
I have received many different reports, but most customers report that they hear their pets laughing, chuckling, purring and carrying on in a language that is unknown to us. They even at times seem to communicate to each other.
Why can't I hear these sounds without a detector?
Many animals, including rats
and mice have better hearing than you or I. They emit sounds that are too
high for our hearing. The detector simply translates these sounds into
sounds we can hear.
